Crush Them Or We'll Be Crush

Yesterday, I was home the whole day and while having dinner watched the TV...

It seems to me that all 3 show I watched involved wrath, manipulation and vicious intentions. Ahh, and rape scenes. So weird, Mediacorp suddenly realised that that's the formula of improving ratings?

Red Thread, Fighting Spiders, The Ultimatum.

I dont like it.

I \ / My Customers

Working on the frontline of customer service means that you get to meet a lot of people. It's fun cuz you get to meet all sorts of people with different characters from (almost) every profession. So much so that I cannot believe my eyes or ears- gosh, I do really have a lot to learn. Either from customers (ironically, I am learning from them too) or from my colleagues whom has been in this line for years. The things you learn, goodness, it's amazing. I am not one who dares to lie so blatantly ( *gushes* "Whoa, you look really pretty in that!!!") so I shrug off learning that skill, as much as all of them keeps urging me- I guess it's all part of the job. The closest I can get is telling them they look okay, acceptable, not ridiculous. But when it comes to a skirt/pants too tight, I'll secretly advise them to not buy. I've got to admit though, everyone has damn good people skills!!! (crazy people! lol)

Other than that, I've learnt so much. Recognising difficult crazy customers; whom will keep you with them for like 30 mins, going through clothes with you then telling you to get them sizes then asking you to get new pieces for them, for like friggin' 10 over pieces of clothings (so can you imagine how many we went through actually..) I went to the storeroom over 15 times in-out in-out cuz they will ask for new pieces a separate time for each clothes! AND THEN WHEN YOU LEAVE THEM ALONE, THEY LEAVE THE ENTIRE PILE OF CLOTHES BY THE TABLE AND DISAPPEAR!!!!!!! WTFffff.

or some of them will buy pieces of clothes or bags then wear and wash and wear and wash, with the price tag there all the while. After some time, they will come back to the store and ask for a refund. -_-. Can you believe it? I was frickin' dumbfounded upon stumbling across these people okay! So unbelievable okay!

I've met both these types, oh, all of them approached me. Manager says it's cuz they know Im new and I look naive. Guess what, they were right. I fell for it through and through. Luckily I was saved every time since the rest of the staff recognises them as well.

I learnt a lot more along the way. Marketing strategy, how to cut losses, company's direction etc. Of course, there were cases when I disagree but hey, who am I to judge. Then there were cases whereby I felt they* were stupid, friggin' so many people trip and fall alr with at least one serious case and they still refused to do anything. Said had to contact company first. -__-. Cant we do something first?! Cant we at least put a rug there or a warning sign?!?! Okay I am fuckin' frustrated thinking about that now.

I also heard plenty of strange terms and stories. True incredible stories, which will take me a long time to tell. I've never come across such stuff so I cant say for sure if it's true either. Which reminds me that I wanted to google this. Alright skip.

Then there are my colleagues previous jobs' tricks and treats! Uber interesting I tell you! But frickin' annoying to know how plenty have been tricked!

Now, what to perk everyone's mood up with some scandals going in the store! HAHAHA! Yayyy.

And finally, nicknames with hand gestures to go with it for calling the Uppers behind their back. Fun!
Oh somebody wanted to give me this "cutesy" nickname, but it's damn disgusting I shivered upon hearing him call it. Have requested for removal. What's wrong with my name.

More next time.../

P.S. I didnt fully make use of MPE! So dumb! I thought 7/7/09 meant till 23:59!
I am so smart, I keep mistaking EVERYTHING. CORS, S/U, MPE.. I feel like I am learning everything the hard way. GRA.

Hello from Subway!

I just found out that King of Pop- Michael Jackson passed away! No wonder there was a tribute to him on tv last night! There I was wondering why Mediacorp so random, only paying a tribute to his music now. Love Heal the World, the song truly wants me to make the world a better place. Excluding raping little kids lah.

Im very bored at work now.

P.s. I love my phone!

Update: I am watching his live concert on youtube now, but knowing that he's dead; seeing him perform live sorta creeps me out. For some reasons.

OMG, as I am wondering what was the reason I felt uncomfortable watching his live performances, my mind wandered to Life After Death. A truly intriguing topic. Seriously, do we just disappear from universe like biscuits do when I eat them? Or go to Heaven/Hell? Then wouldnt there be very very crowded? Do animals and dinosaurs go there as well? Or as my religion suggest, will they reincarnate into whatever-they-deserve? Then why cant they just go to Heaven? Are their life not equal to Man's? Why is Man superior? Whoever made that rule? But then again, the concept of retribution is logical. You do good, you beget good. Meanwhile, evil deeds beget bad karma. It makes sense! That should be the way! And I do believe in it.
But on why Man is superior than animals, I guess it's cuz we're bigger plus smarter and can thus kill them easily, hence them obeying our words. I mean seriously, if one day, all the animals have evil thoughts, they can always collaborate (I do believe there exists translator amongst them) and overthrow the human race. Right???

I digressed, questioning faith and evolution. But really, the religion is like philosophy itself so Im totally cool with that.

And, where is the space to create Heaven and Hell? Is it another dimension? What do they mean by another dimension? That dimension must come from somewhere isnt it? Do you think the people there knows what's going on in this dimension? or. Do you think the people there knows the sort of difference they made in the world or in the lives of others? Gosh I hope they do. Cuz I miss my grandmother so much, I dunno why I am still unable to say "I love you" or "Thank you" to people I love still around me.

At the same time, I hope Einstein knows how much I dislike him. I rather he invent something (like Wright Brothers!) than discover something boring. Pfft. (Galileo's findings more interesting alright!)

Guess My Phone!

Yay, time sure pass fast when you're busy! See how celebrations & promotions (Father's Day) at the mall can help draw crowds!

Anyway, one proof of how tiring retail work can be--- a full timer on his first day of work, RAN AWAY AFTER like JUST 4 HOURS! HAHAHHAHAHA. And this is in the afternoon when there was no crowd at all! Worst, he had angkongs (tattoos) and all that on his back! Sucker.
I didnt manage to talk much to him since I arrived only in the afternoon and was busy restocking. But the moment my supervisor told me, "Eh, the new guy ran away already." I laughed my head off. First, it was unbelievable and then it was ridiculous and then when I think of how tough he looked, it was beyond hilarious. He didnt even dared to pick up his phone when my supervisor called him hahahaha. Only when one of us, normal staff messaged him then did he admit it on the reply.

Btw, I have changed phone! Hoho. It's a type of phone which I lusted for even before I received my Sony Ericsson May last year. Anyhow it's in my palm now and I've been grinning ever since I officially have it. Thank you my Father's day for buying it, and Mummy for giving it up and letting me have it. Heh. Oh well, it's bought using my plan anw. Now Im just looking forward to seeing what phone my bro will change to.

You know you know, I didnt know that I've used my antique brown K800i for one year alr!

I think I should go start a phone history. How many phones have I used, how long did I use each phone, how did I dispose of the old phones etc.

This new one... My dad signed a 2 years contract for it. This, I dont get. How he trusts me to take good care of it for 2 whole years. Heck, I hope it even survive a year. He knows better than anyone how I am with gadgets.

Just after the first hour I inserted my SIM card, I realised the phone didnt recognise that the memory card had been inserted too. There I was, taking in and out the memory card, hoping it's not the reader that's spoilt. And, worrying about what my dad will say if I told him the problem. "Not even a day passed and it's spoilt?!?!", I heard this looming in my ears. For, we had the phone since last week (just that it wasnt officially mine yet, since it will only be; if my Mum doesnt want it (told you I had to say "Thanks!" to her!)) and nothing went wrong.
Luckily my brother came back, touched the phone, and like how the Midas touch turned everything to gold, it was fixed.

Gosh, be good with me alright. I shall treat you better than as well as I treat my laptop. Better than I treat my bags. Good phone.

Advertisement: Promotions. Bring Food!

You know, visits from friends at the store is different from bumping into acquaintances there.
Friends bring you food or eat with you during your break or wait for you to get off work etc. Acquaintances... well, small talk! But other than that, it's actually pretty good to see any familiar face. Even though it's people from school and ones whom seldom talk to.
Ah well, anything like familiar people or good food perks me up these days. Do you know how boring it can be eating the same thing over and over again for several meals in a row?!?! Damn Clarke Quay and it's expensive food!

Btw, if I havent yet publicly announce it here, I am working at
Club Marc @ Central, Clarke Quay

Otherwise known as the "15 dollars shop" now (as I would call it/)
Inconvenient to get to, and very deserted as compared to the Vivo/Marina Square outlet.

I am right now announcing this in bold cuz I am urging all of you to visit the store. ON DAYS WHEN I AM THERE, of course. And when you're coming down, dont forget to dabao for me some good any food.

If you need that extra push, I wish to add that "we have plenty of clothes/shoes suitable for our age" *ahem*.

Come down! $15 storewide, except bags and new arrivals! Cheap cheap!

DO YOU KNOW:
Friday, there were tons (literally hahaha) of pregnant women.

Sunday, there were tons of toddlers (all too cute too!).
It's like a phenomenon-- the whole process of growing up, lol.

Oyasumi nasai! Still have to work tmr *sigh*. Shall look forward to meeting teens.

Admit it! Who Else Peed In The Pool?

Im just gonna rant and continue ranting about the weather. IT IS TOO DARN HOT!

Esp the night I went to stayover at Vanx (complete spontaneous btw- I bumped into the both of them at the MRT after alllll of our work (exact same company, just different location) , they invited me and I accepted. ) ... gosh, 3 of us club-marc-ers were sweating and complaining like mad. The moment we came out of the shower, we sweat. -_-. And the room has ONLY ONE, ONE FRIGGIN' SPOT where the fan can reach you. Gosh, I feel like hitting the pillow now whilst thinking of what we went through.

Anyway, out of Buona Vista, Tiong Bahru and Bukit Batok, I can assure you that BB is the coolest. Not like yoyoyo!-cool, but weather-cool. Esp at night. At BV and TB, the heat just hit me in the face the instant I alighted from the train/bus. Pfft.

(Oh so you know, I probably add that BB-ians are yoyoyo!-cool as well. Hoho.)

It was so hot, we made a 2-days-in-advance decision to go swimming. An activity which I asked the girls along when we were having dinner the next evening. Can you believe the contrast, 1 day in advance decision to go swimming and a 2 weeks in advance decision to have dinner together, lol. Tells you how hot the weather was is, doesnt it? Or rather, how desperate we were are for an exercise to lose weight. Ah well, we only played water and acted worried for our floats in the end. (I DONT LIKE THAT LITTLE GIRL. I DONT LIKE HER. NIAK.)

Hello, let's go swimming this coming week. Let me make the plans now..

17th June, Wednesday. 10AM. HOME TEAM NS (free entry y'know! haha cheapo)
or preferably
(cuz Im "free-er" starting next week.. )
24th June, Wednesday, 10AM, HOME TEAM NS (also cuz I've got straight bus, gee. )
okay reply me when you see this.
(sms, cuz I might not be using the computer these few days.)

I think I have grown visibly darker even though I applied sunblocks every 2 hours. *sigh* Just when I was getting used to being fair...

On a completely opposite note,
I can sleep without switching on the fan at home. hurhur.

Alright, Gdnight! I have got to turn off the computer!
And well.. the fan. heh.

How Awesome Is What?

My colleagues think I am 15. They also think I am Korean. (LOL, RIDICULOUS RIGHT?!)

All I can do is... make a face, and then reply, "I was 15, and I just came back from Korea."
That just blanks them out.

Probably the Korean air rubbed some Korean-ness on me. Lol. Frankly, I think I look more than a 100% Singaporean- a nationality they brushed off when I insisted I am. -_-.

lol

-

Okay, to put it precisely; (regarding the first sentence) first, they asked if Im 15. I retorted that was because I am short, and that I am not 15. They retorted back that I also behave like I am 15. -___-.
And they said this during my first day of work. (SEE?! First impressions are inaccurate!)

I suspect it's because I keep playing with everything unknowingly when I have nothing to do, even up till now. When I have a hangar in hand, I will unknowingly turn and twist and turn it, till the metal hook drops off. By that time, the sound alarms me and I think, "Oh shit, again! Aargh. *bends down to pick it up*", meanwhile everybody else's eyes turn towards the source of the clank, including the managers'. *sigh*

I think I have been caught more than once standing on the trolleys, playing with the trolleys and hangars, dancing; using everything I have near me or in my hands as props, walking in all sorts of way around the store (eg moonwalking), climbing up the racks of racks in the storeroom to obtain particular clothes (cuz the ladder is being used by the aircon guy outside) (gosh, I felt like King Kong then, but a really afraid King Kong whose weight is heavy enough to topple all the racks of clothes which, will all then go down like dominoes. Now, THAT will be funny. I will also be buried underneath the metal racks and PILES of clothes, and die. If I dont, I will also be fired the next day. ----- Now, that was funny! HAHAHAHAHHA. Or was it not? Ah well, HAHAHAHAHA.)

ETC. Like shouting out to a customer, "AUNTIE!!! *runs after her*" when Im supposed to call them "Madam" politely. lol.

Luckily, everyone still treats me real well. REALLY WELL. Like, bringing me home-cooked food from their home and treating me like a friend (playing with me, heh). Though some of them carries the wrong impression of me. I will list them out, but they are much too flattering and embarrassing for me to type. Exaggerating too. I want to believe it, but I cant. It's not for me to decide. LOL I am laughing and rolling my eyes at the same time just thinking of what they said. LOLLOL. They must not meet a lot of people, but, that's just ironic considering the line of work they are in.

Okay, bye.
Note to self: Have to remember not to play, especially with hangars tmr.
